Oven Universe's physical store is adjacent to (almost part of) D&Department, so we often see people enjoying shopping for furniture such as sofas. The furniture is generally large and reasonably priced. Buying requires some planning and determination.
Therefore, this time we will introduce music that seems to be suitable for ``when buying furniture, and after buying it.''
① Rachel Langlais/ Dothe (LP)
A piece from <Un Je-Ne-Sais-Quoi>, an underground label based in France that disseminates experimental music . This is an experimental piece created by French multi-instrumentalist Rachel Langlais using a prepared piano and two pianos, and it gives the impression that it has a good balance between experimental aspects and familiarity. It seems to be suitable for times when you don't really need it, but want it, such as when you want to replace your sofa or add something new. The first note of the first song, "De belles jours," starts off as if you were in the mood for a little luxury and came up with the idea of buying furniture. The third song, "Thangen," is mainly composed of simple phrases and sustained sounds, and it's the atmosphere you get when you come to a store and see too many things and your head starts to wander. The fifth song, "Comme le canard," has a light and happy tone to it, and although it's not over-the-top, it's a decently priced sofa, and the singer enthusiastically buys it in installments. The following 6th song, "En brasier", starts with the same note of awareness as at the beginning of the album. I started facing the reality of my purchase. The last 9th song "Grandroit" is a one-tone song with an impression similar to a drone. I still don't fully approve of this drastic luxury, so I tend to save money on dinner.
② Various Artists/ Nuleaf (LP)
From <Numero Group> , which is well-known for its deep reissues and compilation works , NuLeaf is a famous smooth jazz compilation featuring technical lead play, synthesizers, and drum machines in a groovy way. This piece, which consistently has a unique lobby feel and RPG feel, is an image that smartly supports every stage of purchasing furniture, from planning to purchase, delivery, and even after arrival. The sixth track in particular, "Waiting For You," is a funky tune that shines with the guitar playing of Frank Potenza, who is also known as a disciple of guitarist Joe Pass. song. None of the songs are too far-fetched, and they firmly support the luxury within the scope of the plan.
③ Razen/ Blue Rot (LP)
A 2021 work from <Hands In The Dark> by Razen, a drone collective centered around Brecht Ameel and Kim Delcour . An organic drone piece using unfamiliar instruments such as armonica and monochord . In addition to the organic sounds, such as breathing-like undulations, which differ from mechanical sustained sounds, the strangeness of the sound and the ceremonial atmosphere are pleasant, and it gives the impression that it is not too lyrical. This is suitable for maintenance after purchase rather than at the time of purchase. After you bring your wooden furniture home, it's perfect for soaking it with sound before using it. The decisive difference from the above recommendation is that it is not the background music of the buyer, but the music that they want to be bathed in with the furniture. Recommended not only for furniture but also for shoe polishing.
We are always looking for themes and situations.
