The Angel's Riddle

A book containing drawings and sculptures created from 2020 to 2022 by Taipei, Taiwan-based artist Teng Yung Han, who is popular for his gory, pop, and sometimes sexual expressions. It is published by Random Man Editions, an up-and-coming art label that releases VHS, DVDs, art books, etc., and is managed by New York-based artist M. Jensen, who also releases art books from San Francisco publisher Colpa Press .


Teng Yung Han draws and sculpts abstracted characters in a singular language influenced by underground manga (specifically Garo-era "heta-uma" drawing), 90s pop culture and Taoist philosophy. Her creative practice also includes self-publishing manga and creating mascot suits, big dolls and figurines. "The Angel's Riddle" collects 70 drawings and sculptures from 2020-2022. Han is based in Taipei, Taiwan.
