I’ll take my business elsewhere! Twig blights hiss an invitation. Feast day. Colors arrive for the woodland orgy. In hot pursuit. Axes raised. Strong, stacked, naked, no holds barred. There are prizes. Pussy spread by the campfire. Erect cocks graze the unseen duff of the ground. Subservient to the will of the tree.

Amy Lockhart is known for her laboriously produced surreal paper cut out animations, notably Walk for Walk. In this collection of drawings, she expands upon the humanoid characters & motifs previously invoked in her films Those Shoes and Pondlife. Lockhart’s work in Badger Tree apprise of that one time there was a chthonic conference in the forest. Calling to mind the dynamics & motility of Sally Cruikshank, Christina Ramberg, David Britton, and Friz Freleng among other conscious & unconscious influences from the realms of underground comics, animation, and mail art, the images are funny, monstrous, and kind of hot..
