Nolly Babes
From the NY-based art label <Random Man Editions> run by M.Jensen. An archive collection containing scenes from the movies, DVD labels, title screens, etc. from the late 90's to early 2000's, the golden age of Nollywood movies produced in Nigeria.
Sisters Tochi & Ebele Anueyiagu created Nolly Babes back in 2017 with the intention of archiving and curating images and clips from what they have defined as the Golden Era of Nollywood, the late '90s early '00s.
Having moved from Lagos to Atlanta at the age of 13 and 10 respectively, each film they picked on their summer trips back to Nigeria was a cherished tie to their home country.
Beyond Nolly Babes being an ode to Nigerian film's most iconic babes, it also tackles some of the thornier discussions taking place in contemporary Nigerian and Black culture, both in the country and in the diaspora.
This volume collects the greatest film stills, title screens and DVD & VCD artwork from the Golden Era of Nollywood.
