drawing together
"A thinking flowerpot, a Casio lizard or an eyeball-shaped hammock: "Cadavre exquis" is the name of the game with folded paper that the surrealists once played. Several people work together on a drawing, without the other players having seen the previous part of the work.
All we have to do is fold the paper and amuse ourselves with the collective nonsense. Curator Hans Ulrich Obrist has played this game over and over again in recent years - with Dan Graham, Katharina Grosse, Pippilotti Rist, Gerhard Richter and many more. This has resulted in around 200 such scribbles. The book celebrates hand drawing in the age of voice messages. And above all, it is a call not only to look at the drawings, but to play the game yourself. Draw, fold, draw, fold, draw, fold!“
