MARFA JOURNAL
MARFA 18
Inspired by Marfa, Texas, a frontier city known for its artistic sensibilities and home to the studio of master artist Donald Judd. Issue 18 of MARFA, a culture magazine based in London that focuses on art and fashion, is now available. This issue features people active in various fields, including Kiko Mizuhara, who also appears on the cover, novelist Deborah Levy, Australian music group HTRK, and actor Ever Anderson, also known as Milla Jovovich's eldest daughter. Every issue is definitely an exciting and cutting-edge MARFA◎
Say «good morning» to MARFA #18, arranged so artfully on MY BEDSIDE TABLE. Waking up after a restful night's sleep, it's that reassuring piece of furniture that we first turn to. When away from it, we do nothing but miss it. And we have been away a lot this summer.
As you're reading this, MARFAMILY are in a little-known, modest mountain town called St. Moritz, attending the Art Film Festival and launching this issue. And we were here only last month to shoot Michel Auder in the Engadin valley. But it's not just Switzerland we've visited, we stopped by Michael Dean's massive jungle, enjoyed the company of Kiko Mizuhara in Tokyo and spent some quality time with the actress Hari Nef in Dave Baby's London flat.
In fact, issue #18 is well over the baggage allowance. Talent-heavy with two writers and three actors, it packs a juicy punch featuring deep and meaningful conversations with others, Deborah Levy, HTRK, Ottessa Moshfegh and Diamond Stingily. With Contributors including Leilah Weinraub, Theo Sion, Senta Simond, Lily McMenamy, Jack Day, Ari Marcopoulos, Takashi Homma and Alasdair McLellan.
During our travels, we met three fictional fellow plane passengers, whose letters home we have included within. Not to forget the issue's sunny fashion content with Kiki Willems, Ever Anderson, Mika Kendall, and the unmissable Akeem Smith, in his flattering chicken head and a pair of knockers, cycling around London.
But, we're ready for some home time again now, side-by-side with our favorite small cupboard, MY BEDSIDE TABLE.
